Dr. Nish Patel
Dr. Nish Patel has been a member of our eyecare team since 2002. He graduated from the science and technology program at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD. He went on to attend Northwestern University, where he earned a degree in physiology with honors.
He graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 2011, where he served on the Executive Board of Vision Development. Dr. Nish Patel is a member of the Maryland Optometric Association.

Dr. Veera Patel
Dr. Veera Patel was born and raised in Southern California. She attended the University of California, San Diego, and graduated with a degree in Human Biology with a minor in History. During her college years, she spent some time volunteering abroad with a non-profit group, “Unite for Sight,” to help underserved populations in remote villages in India regain sight through cataract operations. These experiences solidified her passion for eye care.
After graduating from UCSD, she continued her education in Boston at the New England College of Optometry, where she received her doctorate degree. It was here that she met Dr. Nish Patel! After she graduated from Optometry school in Boston, the two got married in Santa Barbara, California, in 2014 and settled in Gambrills, Maryland, where they both continue to help their patients and community with their eye care needs. Dr. Veera is also mommy to her adorable kids, Kian and Kiara. When she has any free time, she loves to watch movies, cook, and travel!

Dr. Felix Lee is excited to return home to Maryland and join our family, helping his community with their vision needs after practicing in the New Jersey and New York area. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, he went on to earn an additional B.S. in vision science and his Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern College of Optometry. Dr. Lee received honorable distinctions in clinical care throughout his externships in various primary and tertiary care settings that included the Malcom Randall Veterans Affairs Hospital in Gainesville, FL, Eye Centers of South Florida, and The Eye Care Institute in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Dr. Lee provides all aspects of primary vision care, including comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and the evaluation and management of chronic and acute ocular pathology. He strives to provide personalized and compassionate care to each patient with the latest research and treatment methods supported by evidence-based care. Dr. Lee is a member of the American Optometric Association. When not in the office, he enjoys playing golf, traveling, improving his culinary skills, and supporting his alma mater, the Maryland Terrapins.

Dr. Alpana Scantlin
Dr. Alpana Scantlin is originally from Maryland. She graduated from Annapolis Area Christian School magna cum laude. She completed a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 3 years. She then went on to attend the University of the Incarnate Word, Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, TX, where she graduated in 2017 in the top 10 of her class.
Dr. Scantlin continued her education at Rosenberg School of Optometry by completing a residency program that specialized in primary care and ocular disease. She is also a captain in the United States Air Force Reserve, where she also serves as an optometrist.

Dr. STEPHANIE CATHELL
Dr. Stephanie Cathell is a dedicated optometrist committed to providing personalized, high-quality eye care for patients of all ages. She earned a B.S. in Biology from The Pennsylvania State University before attending Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry.
Dr. Cathell’s training involved all aspects of primary and tertiary care in various clinical settings, which included The Eye Care Institute in Fort Lauderdale, FL, CorrectVision Laser Institute in Weston, FL, and Malcolm Randall VA Hospital in Gainesville, FL. Her diverse clinical background allows her to provide care for a wide range of ocular conditions, with a strong focus on patient-centered care and long-term visual health.
Originally born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Cathell now calls Maryland home, but she proudly supports the Pittsburgh Steelers and Nittany Lions. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and trying out new restaurants with her husband (Dr. Lee!).
